Ashlee Joins Team Barack Obama

Singer/ actress and new mommy, Ashlee Simpson, joins the welcome wagon for Barack Obama, as she unites with other artists, actors, and singers to record a message for the new United States President-elect.

Ashlee (who is a redhead again, and wore an outfit in her new “signature” color, black) and Sean “Diddy” Combs, another singer/rapper, were spotted when they arrived at the Dream Bigger Studios in Los Angeles last Tuesday, January 13, less than a week before Barack’s inauguration ceremony.

So what exactly makes up a good Welcome Card befitting the 2008 Person of the Year, you ask?

Well, a video montage of select celebrities, of course! Produced by Ashton Krutcher, this video is a joint effort to represent Hollywood as they make ready to congratulate Barack during a part in his Inauguration celebrations. Wondering what the video will look like? Like the rest of the world, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Celebrities like Hayden Panettiere, Jenna Elfman, Kerry Washington, Ioan Gruffudd, Tatyana Ali, and Michelle Trachtenberg (who is, incidentally, an ex-girlfriend of Ash’s husband rocker, Pete Wentz. Do you think there was tension between the two hotties? Hmmm…), join Ash and Diddy. Don’t recognize some of the names? Don’t worry, me too. And why is Ashlee’s big sis, Jessica, not included in the list? Well, beats me.

This Monday, January 19, is the actual date of Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony, where most of the celebrities who took part of the video are expected to fly out to Washington DC for this historic event in US history. Hmmm, Wonder if Ash will be there?
